Did you know that there have been 1,600 reported burglaries in Brooklands Ward since 2010?
This works out at approximately ONE burglary every TWO days. Brooklands Ward is the highest area for burglaries in our Borough.
Romford's Tory MP, Andrew Rosindell, voted IN FAVOUR of Police cuts in Parliament from 2011 to 2018. He supports the government's cuts which have badly affected our local community.
What have the 3 Brooklands Tory councillors done to tackle this burglary problem?
Remarkably one of them is in charge of Public Protection and Safety for the entire borough.
We think that as two of them don't actually live in the ward that they are not affected by these high crime levels.
We want to see more police on our streets to gather local intelligence about people who want to rob our homes. But the Tories have reduced police funding instead of crime.
Olivier Mupenda, Brooklands resident and Labour Action team member said: “We admire our brave policemen and policewomen. They deserve more resources to do their job".
Nigel Meyer, Brooklands resident, and Labour Action Team member said: “As a long term resident in Brooklands the numbers of burglaries is very concerning. I will be seeking to work with local people and the police to reduce crime across the Ward".
